Professional Edition

For Professional edition, the migration steps are listed below, separately for MySQL and MSSQL.

In Case of MySQL:

1. Take a backup of IT360 data, running in the old machine.

2. Install the new IT360. Please do not start IT360 at this point.

Note: Please ensure that the Edition / Server-type / Port / Database of the new installation is the same as that of the old one.

3. Restore the data.

In Case of MSSQL:

1. Follow the general backup procedure of MSSQL, to take a backup of the IT360 database. While taking the backup, make sure that the Backup Type is set as 'Full'. Refer the below screenshot:

Note: All the database names should start with the prefix, provided during the installation of the old IT360 setup. For e.g., if you had given the prefix as 'oldIT360', then the databases have to be backed-up as follows: 'oldIT360AMDB', 'oldIT360consoledb', 'oldIT360OpManagerDB', 'oldIT360netflow', 'oldIT360servicedesk'.

2. Install the new IT360. Please do not start IT360 at this point.

Note: Please ensure that the Edition / Server-type / Port / Database of the new installation is the same as that of the old one.

3. Follow the general restore procedure of MSSQL, to restore the database. During the data restoration process, make sure that you have set the Recovery Model as 'Full'. Refer the below screenshot:

Note: All the new database names start with the prefix, provided during the installation of the new IT360 setup. For e.g., if you had given the prefix as 'newIT360', then the databases will be restored as follows: 'newIT360AMDB', 'newIT360consoledb', 'newIT360OpManagerDB', 'newIT360netflow', 'newIT360servicedesk'.

Enterprise and MSP Editions

For EE and MSP editions, the migration steps are listed below, separately for the Central and Probe servers.

1. Steps for Probe Server Migration

i) Changes Required in Probe Server

In Case of MySQL:

1. Take a backup of IT360 data, running in the old machine.

2. Install the new IT360. Please do not start IT360 at this point.

Note: Please ensure that the Edition / Server-type / Port / Database of the new installation is the same as that of the old one.

3. Restore the data.

4. Remove the install.txt present under <IT360-Home>\apllications\conf.

5. Copy the installed.lock (<IT360-Home>\ applications\working) file from the existing server and place it into the new server.

6. Start the IT360 Probe service.

4. Remove the install.txt present under <IT360-Home>\apllications\conf.

5. Copy the installed.lock (<IT360-Home>\ applications\working) file from the existing server and place it into the new server.

6. Start the IT360 Probe service.

ii) Changes Required in Central Server

Change the Probe information in Central, as shown below;

i. Navigate to 'Central --> Admin --> Probe'.

ii. Go to the Edit Probe page and change the Host Name of the Probe server.

2. Steps for Central Server Migration

i) Changes Required in Central Server

In Case of MySQL:

1. Take a backup of IT360 data, running in the old machine.

2. Install the new IT360. Please do not start IT360 at this point.

Note: Please ensure that the Edition / Server-type / Port / Database of the new installation is the same as that of the old one.

3. Restore the data.
